自身が若い頃、酔うためだけに飲んでいたという「long island iced tea」（紅茶を一切使わずに、色彩と味を紅茶に近づけたカクテル）をタイトルに冠した今作は、自身の若い頃を振り返り、これからの人生に新たな一歩を踏み出していくという内容の1曲。サウンド面ではMichael Kanekoらしいポップなサウンドが散りばめられた、ており、明るくポップなサマー・チューンに仕上がっている。
なお、今作は楽曲リリース前にイントロのみをTikTok、Instagramで先行公開しており、Instagramにて25万人ものフォロワー数を誇るMiyuをはじめ、数々の著名ダンサーがダンス映像をポストしたり、ラッパーがトラックに乗せてラップを乗せたり、夏の思い出としてのBGMや、美容室や英会話系のインフルエンサーが使用するなど、ジャンルを問わずSNSでも広がりを見せている。

とにかく一番効率よく酔えるお酒で盛り上がりたい！ そんな時に出会ったのがロングアイランドアイスティー。
ウォッカ、ホワイト・ラム、ジン、テキーラ、オレンジ・リキュールにコーラを混ぜたカクテルで、あまりにも強過ぎて数分で酔いが回る危険極まりない一杯！
（心臓の弱い人にはおすすめできない代物です）
ジャンボ・ロングアイランド・アイスティー（僕らはJ-LIITと呼んでいた）を2杯飲んだ後カラオケで『I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing』を上裸になりながら大合唱したこともあったな（笑）。
僕にとって、この飲み物は「若さ故の無知と無謀さ」を象徴している。どれだけマズかろうが、翌朝にどれだけ頭が痛かろうが気にしなかった。重要なのは目の前のことだけで、つまり、早く、安く、気を失うまで飲んだくれることだった。責任も恐怖もなかった。
しかし、振り返ってみるとこの若さゆえの無謀さが、僕がミュージシャンになるきっかけでもあった。
もし20代前半の僕に、今のような合理性と思慮深さがあったなら、正直なところこのようなキャリアを選ぶことはなかったと思います。
大人になり過去を後悔し、そこから学び、未来に希望と夢を抱く、そんな歌になりました。
あれから僕は成長したと思います。
もうJ-LIITも飲まなくなりました。
まあ週2日でLIITは飲むけどね！（健康第一！）
Back in college, my friends and I would go to our local bar a few times a week. Being young, senseless, and poor, we would try to find the most economical way to get drunk. That’s when we discovered the perfect cocktail: the Long Island Iced Tea. A concoction not for the faint of heart, a drink so deadly you would be intoxicated in a matter of minutes. A shot of vodka, white rum, gin, tequila, orange liqueur, and coke. After two jumbo Long Island Iced Teas ( we used to call them JLIITS), we were screaming ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ in karaoke with our shirts off (true story lol). To me, this drink symbolizes the ignorance and recklessness of youth. I didn’t care if it tasted like shit, or how I would feel the next morning. All that mattered was the task at hand: to get completely obliterated, quickly, and cheaply. I had no responsibilities; no fear. I cringe at some of the messed up shit I used to do back in the day, but in retrospect, this same youthful naivety is also what pushed me to become a musician— not caring about the risk or repercussions, just doing it because I loved music and I wanted to play and make music for a living. If I had the rationality and mindfulness that I do now in my early 20s, I honestly don’t think I would have chosen this career path. The perfect title for a song about, growing up, regretting and learning from the past, hoping and dreaming of the future. I’d like to think I’ve matured since then: bills to pay, mouths to feed. And although I’ve cut down on my JLIIT consumption, I still believe that Long Island twice a week is a healthy dosage for the heart.
