デヴィッド・ボウイ、レコード・スト
ア・デイに3つのレア作品がリリース

▲『Welcome To The Blackout (Live London 1978)』

デヴィッド・ボウイの未発表ライブ・アルバムなど3作品が、レコード・ストア・デイ（4月21日）に限定リリースされることが明らかになっている。

毎年、レコード・ストア・デイの目玉のひとつとなっているボウイのアナログ盤リリース。2018年に発売されるのは、未発表のライブ・アルバム『Welcome To The Blackout (Live London 1978)（ウェルカム・トゥ・ザ・ブラックアウト）』と、12インチ・シングル「Let's Dance (Demo)（レッツ・ダンス (デモ)）」、そして1977年にアメリカでプロモーション盤として制作され、今回が初めての商品化となるコンピレーション『Bowie Now（ボウイ・ナウ）』の3作品だ。

LP3枚組の『Welcome To The Blackout (Live London 1978)』には、＜ISOLAR II＞ツアーの一環として1978年6月30日、7月1日に開催された英ロンドン、アールズ・コート公演からのライブ音源を収録。ライブ・レコーディングはトニー・ヴィスコンティが担当し、ミックスは1979年にボウイ本人とデヴィッド・リチャーズの手で行なわれた。スリーブ・ケースは、鋤田正義とクリス・ウォルターの撮影による写真をフィーチャーしたデザインとなっている。

また、シングル「Let's Dance (Demo)」には、ボウイの71回目の誕生日に合わせて今年1月8日にリリースされた「Let's Dance」のデモ音源が7分34秒のフル・バージョンで収められる。エディット・バージョン同様、ミックスはナイル・ロジャースが担当している。

そしてカップリングには、1983年9月12日に行なわれたバンクーバー公演での同曲のライブ音源を収録。コンサート・フィルム『Serious Moonlight』に収められているほか、回顧展＜DAVID BOWIE is＞のオーストラリア会場限定の7インチ・シングルにも収録されていたライブ・バージョンだ。ジャケット・デザインは、シングル「Let's Dance」のオリジナル盤と色違いで制作されたものとなっている。

『Bowie Now』は1977年発表の『Low』と『Heroes』の収録曲で構成された11曲入りのコンピレーション盤で、今回はホワイト・ヴァイナル仕様で登場する。トニー・ヴィスコンティによる最新リマスター音源は、ボックス・セット『A New Career In A New Town』でも使用されているもの。インナースリーブは、1977年にベルリンで撮影されたという貴重なモノクロ写真をフィーチャーした新デザインとなる。
