FYF Fest、開催中止が決定
2004年に米・カリフォルニアにてスタートした「FYF Fest」が今年の開催を中止すると発表しました。チケットのセールス不振が理由だと言われています。
「FYF Fest」は昨年、プロモーターであるショーン・カールソンが過去のセクシャルハラスメントを告発されたことを受け開催の雲行きが怪しくなっていましたが、プロモーション企業のGoldenvoiceらによって今年も行われる予定でした。

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festivalが開催
4月27日（金）〜5月6日（日）に米・ニューオリンズにて「New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival」が開催されました。
今年は、ベックやエアロスミス、ジャック・ホワイト、スティングなどのアーティストが出演し大盛況のうちに幕を閉じました。

エアロスミスは昨年9月のツアーを中止して以来初めてのパフォーマンスとなりました。これが現時点では2018年の唯一のパフォーマンスと言われています。

Live NationがRock in Rio Festivalを買収
米・大手イベントプロモーター会社のLive Nationは、南アメリカ最大級のフェスティバル「Rock in Rio」を買収すると発表しました。
Live Nationは「Rock in Rio」の設立パートナーと、コンサートプロモーター・LiveStyleの債権者委員会の両方から株式を購入。2019年のRock in Rioの50％を買収する契約を結びました。
「Rock in Rio」は2015年に米・ラスベガスで開催されましたが、チケット売り上げが激減したため、この年以来北米で行われていません。なお、今年は6月23日〜24日、6月29日〜6月30日にポルトガル・リスボンにて「Rock in Rio Lisboa 2018」が開催されます。
ラインナップ発表
アメリカで開催される「AUSTIN CITY LIMITS MUSIC FESTIVAL」がラインナップを一挙公開。ポール・マッカートニー、メタリカ、チャイルディッシュ・ガンビーノ、アークティック・モンキーズらが出演決定しました。同じくアメリカで開催される「Electric Zoo」にはティエスト、アレッソらが追加発表されました。
その他、アメリカで開催される「Bumbershoot」、「IMAGINE MUSIC FESTIVAL」、「iHeartRadio Music Festival」、「DAS ENERGI FESTIVAL」、「RIVER CITY ROCKFEST」、「OHANA FESTIVAL」、「Jam Cruise」、韓国で開催される「Spectrum Dance Music Festival」のラインナップが発表されました。
