The Persuasionsパースエイジョンズ
人間の声だけでスウィート＆ドリーミーな音世界を構成する音楽形態、また超絶的な音楽芸能のかたちでもある、ア・カペラ。
パースエイジョンズは、活動歴約40年（！）を誇る最重要ア・カペラ・グループである。黒人芸能界にデビューしたのが60年代後半。なんと、その発露はフランク・ザッパの口利きだったというのだから驚き。現在までコンスタントにアルバム・リリースをしている絶倫の彼らだが、どの作品でも卓越したコーラス・ワーク＆ヴォーカル・アンサンブルでポップ／ソウル／ゴスペル／ロックのスタンダード・ナンバーを次々と人力のみで調理。ストリート・コーナー・シンフォニー（ドゥーワップの世界観ですね）の美学を貫いてきた。ソウルフルなリード・シングを軸に、ファルセット／バリトン／ベースが一糸乱れぬ重厚ハーモニーを創出するさまはまさに圧巻。
最近では、恩人ザッパやグレイトフル・デッド（！）のカヴァー・アルバムを発表。パースエイジョンズは、ミュージック・シーンに対して気炎を吐き続けている。
