    壊れかけのベース・シンセRoland TB-303をいじっていたシカゴの黒人少年DJ Pieereが、偶然に鳴らしたベース・パターンから、アシッド・ハウス／テクノのオリジナルにして最高傑作「Acid Tracks（原題「In Your Mind」）」（87年）は誕生した。それは、シカゴ・ハウスの伝説と言われたDJロン・ハーディがクラブMusic Boxで好んでプレイしたことをきっかけに爆発的な人気を呼び、さらに鬼才マーシャル・ジェファーソンがプロデュース／ミックスに参加したことで完成した。そして、その興奮は地元シカゴのみならず遥か海を越え、イギリスにもアシッド・ハウス・エクスプロージョンをもたらしたのである。
