    McAlmont & Butlerマッカルモント・アンド・バトラー

    94年にスウェードを脱退したギタリスト／プロデューサーのバーナード・バトラーと、ソウル・シンガーとして活動していた黒人デイヴィッド・マッカルモントが結成したユニットがコレ。96年にアルバム『マッカルモント＆バトラー』を発表。マッカルモントのファルセット・ヴォイスとバトラーの艶やかなギター・サウンドが絡み合う楽曲群が高い評価を受ける。しかし不和説が囁かれるなかで、コンビを解消。それぞれがソロ活動を開始し、バトラーは自らの歌声も吹き込んだアルバム『ピープル・ムーヴ・オン』（98年）＆『フレンズ・アンド・ラヴァーズ』（99年）などを世に送り出した。
    そして02年、再び手を組んだふたりはアルバム『ブリング・イット・バック』を発表。世界中の音楽専門誌の特集ページを賑わせた。
