    銀髪に髭、思慮深げな瞳と親しみやすそうな人柄——"アメリカのお父さん"風情を漂わす国民的歌手、ケニー・ロジャース。 その心の芯まで温めてくれるようなテナー・ヴォイスで"ミスター・ウォーム・アット・ハート"と称される。
    60年代よりカントリー・バンド、ファースト・エディションを率いて活動し、70年代にソロ・アーティストとしてデビュー。77年の「ルシール」を皮切りに、次々にヒットを飛ばし一躍カントリー界のトップ・スターとなる。しかし、それだけでは終わらない。スムーズで洗練されたプロダクションを施した"AORカントリー"な作風を打ち出し、ポップ・チャートをも席捲。ライオネル・リッチーやバリー・ギブ（ビージーズ）をプロデューサーに迎えたり、キム・カーンズやシーナ・イーストンとデュエットするなど、ジャンルのクロスオーヴァーにも積極的な姿勢を見せた。
