    1984年にIan Levine（イアン・レビーン）プロデュースの「High Energy（ハイエナジー）」が大ヒット。80年代に流行した音楽ジャンルのHi-NRG（High Energy）はこの曲に由来している。

    「High Energy」以前はソウル／R&Bのシンガーとして活動しており、デビュー・アルバム『I Wanna Make It On My Own』（78年）、２ndアルバム『Have A Little Faith In Me』（79年）はIan Levineプロデュース作品ながら、80年代のHi-NRGサウンドとはまったく異なった趣の作品となっている。

    また、「High Energy」以降も「Masquerade」などそこそこのヒットを飛ばしており、ディスコ世代にとってEvelyn Thomasは思い出深いアーティストなのではないでしょうか。
