    99年のデビュー・アルバム『DR-550mk２』でDIVEが呈示した音の世界は、ヘヴィ・グルーヴを渦巻かせながらもアートでモダンな様相を醸していた。サンプラーと生音を巧みにブレンドし、まるで異次元的な空間を作り出したのである。無機質なサンプリング＆エフェクト音を多用しつつも、轟音で掻きむしられるギター、ヒップホップのテイストを取り入れたドラムなど、有機的でタフなバンドの一面も覗かせた。
    00年リリースの『NOT FOR CLIMBING USE』では、重要な役割を担っていたサンプラーと断絶。「生音を加工した人工的なエフェクトに力を注いだ」との言葉通り、"生"打ちをあらゆる角度から加工して生み出された、奇妙で斬新なエフェクト音を楽曲に反映させ、新境地を開拓、高い評価を得た。
