    父親である偉大な故ウディ・ガスリー同様、アーロ・ガスリーは社会や政治に対する問題意識を漂わせたフォーク・ミュージックを聴かせる。ガスリーは父親の世界を追うように育ち、歩き始めてからしばらくしてギターの弾き方を覚えた。67年には「アリスのレストラン」というコメディ・タッチの曲を書いたが、それはタイトルにあるレストランなどとはまったく関係のない曲であり、徴兵制度、ベトナム戦争、そして警察の横暴などといった時事問題を描いた作品だった。同名のアルバムが彼の唯一のゴールド・アルバムだったが、ガスリーは今日もツアー活動を通じて、環境問題や人権問題を支援し続けている。
