    まるで喉頭ガンにかかったブルドッグみたいな声がトレードマークのディッキー・バレット率いるマイティ・マイティ・ボストーンズ。ボストン生まれのパンクとザ・スペシャルズ風スカが融合したそのサウンドは、常に音楽シーンを熱くしている。
    85年に結成、89年にデビュー・アルバムをリリースしたボストーンズは、サード・ウェイヴ・スカ・シーンを早くから盛り上げてきた。今ではすっかり定着したスカ・パンクというジャンルの形成に一役かったのも彼らである。時にはオーセンティックな、いかにもスカらしいスカをプレイするが、基本的にはバンド名にたがわない（あるいはそれ以上の）本格的なハードコア・パンクがボストーンズの身上だ。しかし、激しくドライヴする曲であっても、ホーンセクションをフィーチャーしたスカバンドとしての部分は失われることがない。それどころか、ホーンとキレのいい軽快なギターの音には、こちらのテンポも早くなり、思わず体を動かさずにはいられなくなる。キッズを踊らせること間違いなし！
