    The Beta Bandザ・ベータ・バンド

    この雑食性はまさにブタだ。ブータ・バンド（！）もといベータ・バンド(……すいません）のサウンドは、ロックンロールからフォークからヒップホップから、とにかくありとあらゆるものを貪り食い、それらをエクスペリメンタルなサイケデリア便器に排泄している。もうこれはどんな音楽かなんて、言葉では表せない。とにかく聴くしかない。何故なら、彼らの音楽は聴く人間の解釈次第で何通りにもその形を変化させるものだからだ。
    ———97年から98年にかけて発表された３枚のEPがシーンに衝撃を与えて以来、その謎めいた存在感とアーティスティックなライヴ・パフォーマンスが話題となり、ベータ・バンドの名を世に轟かせた。99年には1stアルバム『ザ・ベータ・バンド』をリリースし、ポップな一面を垣間見せている（本人たちはクソ・アルバムだと言及している）。
