    ドイツはデュッセルドルフ出身の４人組ギターポップ・バンド、サブターフュージ。「バーズ、アレックス・チルトン＆ビーチ・ボーイズmeetダイナソー・Jr.」——みたいな感じ。つまり、まったくもってティーンエイジ・ファンクラブと同系列の音だ。甘美な香りを湛えた轟音メランコリック・ワールド。その音の粒すべては、全世界のギターポッパーたちの琴線を刺激してやまないだろう。
    93年、１stアルバム『Fabulous』を発表。以来、マイペースな活動を展開している。02年１月には３枚目となるアルバム『i do birds』をリリースした。珠玉のメロディ・センスが光る力作だ。
