    Savoy Brownサヴォイ・ブラウン

    フリートウッド・マック（ピーター・グリーン在籍時）、チキン・シャックと並び、ブリティッシュ３大ブルース・バンドのひとつ。
    66年に結成。その後30年以上に渡り、メンバー・チェンジを繰り返しつつも、創始者キム・シモンズ（g）を中心として徹底的にブルース音楽を追求している。ちなみに、アメリカで成功を収めたブギー・ロック・バンド「フォガット」のメンバー３人は、サヴォイ・ブラウン出身だ。
    またライヴにおける、ペンタトニックの嵐ともいうべき長尺なブルース・インプロヴィゼーションに定評がある。とくにイギリス特有の曇天模様のごとく、へヴィでディープなキムのギター・プレイはUKブルースの真骨頂といえるだろう。まさにパブで一杯引っかけたくなる音だ。
