    NWOBHMの流れをくむフロリダ産へヴィ・メタル・バンド、サヴァタージ。85年、１stアルバム『サイレンズ』を発表する。アイアン・メイデン、ジューダス・プリーストという２大鋼鉄神へのオマージュが炸裂した構築美サウンドを提示。それはストロング・スタイルな魅力にあふれかえっていた。その後も正統派ヘヴィネスを追求、着実に人気を蓄えていく。91年にはコンセプト・アルバム『ストリーツ・ア・ロック・オペラ』をリリース。斬新なアイディアと大衆よりの娯楽性が同居したメタル史に残る傑作である、との意見も。現在も依然、“日本のマーケットを大いに意識した活動”を精力的に展開中だ。
