    86年から長きにわたって活動を続ける、ニューヨーク発の５人組ア・カペラ・グループ（結成当初は４人組）。映画監督スパイク・リーがホストを務めるTVの音楽プログラムで初めて紹介され、同番組のサントラ『ドゥ・イット・ア・カペラ』（88年）に参加したのがデビューの発端だ。
    92年の１stアルバム『ロッカペラ・ワン』以降、彼らは数多の音源を発表——そのなかでも、サザンオールスターズ「いとしのエリー」や杏里「オリビアを聴きながら」など、ジャパニーズ・ポップスのカヴァー曲は巷によく知られていることだろう。
    まろやかな響きのリード・ヴォーカルに耳を奪われ、汚れなき美しさを湛えたコーラスに思わずウットリ……。また、彼らはハウスやR＆Bなども自分たちの音楽性に積極的に取り入れ、幅広いリスナー層からの人気を獲得している。
