    90年代、ダフト・パンクやカシアスを始め、ハウスを主体としてありとあらゆる音楽要素を吸収し独自のスタイルに昇華してしまうアーティストが、クラブ・ミュージック不毛の地と言われたフランスで続々と誕生した。95年にデビューを果たした、Jean-Philippe FreuとPatou Carrieの２人からなるRinoceroseも、その歴史に名を刻んだと言えるだろう。微細なエレクトロニクスにギターを冒険的に導入したムーディなサウンドが特色で、モグワイ（ポスト・ロックの精鋭）、キング・タビー（ジャマイカン・ダブの創始者）、マーシャル・ジェファーソン（ハウスの革新者）が、彼らに多大なインスピレーションを与えたというのも頷ける。日本では日本盤がリリースされず知る人ぞ知る存在だったが、06年に『iPod + iTunes』CMに「キュービクル」が起用され一気に注目を集め、過去のアルバムが立て続けにリリースされ話題となっている。
