    アイアン・メイデンと並ぶNWOBHMの立役者的グループ。極めて叙情的な正統派ヘヴィ・メタルを得意中の得意とし、イギリス本国よりも日本での人気が圧倒的に高い。
    ティノ・トロイ（g&vo）と兄弟のクリス（b&vo）を中心に77年、ロンドンにて結成。ライヴ・ツアーを主軸とした活動を展開し、草の根的に信奉者を増やしていった。そして81年、１stアルバムにして鋼鉄史に燦然と輝く名盤『Time Tell No Lies』を発表。うた心とヘヴィネスとドラマ性がむっちり詰まった感動の音世界を構築。メタル・ファンの心を激しく燃え上がらせたのだ。——が、しかし。レコード会社とのトラブルに見舞われ、音楽活動が困難な状況に追い込まれていく。彼らは何度も奮起を図るが、結局80年代半ば、解散の道を辿った。
    その後、90年に再結成。翌91年には２nd『PREDETOR IN DISGUISE』をリリースし、往年のファンを喜ばせた。以降は、日本の市場を念頭におきながら、安定した活動を継続している。
