    ウェッサイのギャングスタ・ラッパー、MCエイト。彼は多作家としても知られるヴェテランである。
    そのキャリアの始点は、N.W.A.の信念を受け継いだラップ・グループ＝コンプトンズ・モスト・ウォンテッドの構成員として。そんなエイトのソロ・デビュー・シングルは、自身も出演した映画『メナースIIソサヤティ』のサントラ用にレコーディングされた「ストレイト・アップ・メナース」。このシングルのヒットが奏功してか、メジャーからソロ・デビュー・アルバム『ウィ・カム・ストラップト』（94年）を発表することになる。でもって、このアルバムのヒットがその後の活動の火種となったわけだが、それにしても彼はすこぶる多作家だ。以降も彼は同じようなアティテュード／スタンス／スタイルで、約年１枚というハイ・ペースっぷりで自身のディスコグラフィを埋めている。それもレーベルを次から次へと渡り歩きながら。MCエイトは絶倫のラッパーなのだ。
