    Doug E. Freshダグ・イー・フレッシュ

    オールドスクールの伝説、ダグ E. フレッシュは85年の大ヒット・シングル「The Show b/w La Di Da Di」でヒップポップの歴史を塗りかえた。スヌープ・ドッグがデビュー・アルバムで「La Di Da Di」をカヴァーするなど、フレッシュの優れたビートボックスのスキルや、リックとのユーモラスなラップの掛け合いは、大勢のミュージシャンに感銘を与えた。90年代に入ってからダグは数枚のアルバムをリリースするが、初期の成功には及ばず。プリンス、ルークやグローバー・ワシントンJr.などと活動することもあったフレッシュ。99年にスリック・リックのアルバム『ジ・アート・オブ・ストーリーテリング』にも参加している。
