    まだ21世紀も幕を開けたばかりだというのに、早くも“31世紀型ヒップホップ”を標榜するすんごいヤツらが登場。デル・ザ・ファンキー・ホモサピエン／（ダン・ジ・）オートメイター／キッド・コアラという、それぞれラッパー／トラック・メイカー／ターンテーブリスト界隈でブイブイ言わせてる、クセモノ中のクセモノが寄り集まって結成されたユニット、それがデルトロン3030だ。
    00年に発表された『デルトロン3030』は、3030年の宇宙時代という想像するのも疲れるような、とてつもなく遠い未来をテーマにして作られた作品である。焦点の定まらないフリーキーな抑揚のラップ（デル・ザ・〜中心）／ブラックホールに吸い込まれたかのごとき暗然としたバック・トラック（オートメイター中心）／テクニカルなだけでなく、怪しい雰囲気を醸すキテレツなスクラッチ（キッド・コアラ中心）……。３つの珠玉のエレメントが化学反応を起こし、創出されるアブストラクトなナンバーには、不快と快感が混在した摩訶不思議なスペイシー・グルーヴが渦巻いているのである。
