    07年夏、高橋幸宏の新バンド構想の呼びかけにより、原田知世、高野寛、高田漣、堀江博久、権藤知彦の計６人で結成されたエレクトロ・ポップ・バンド、pupa（ピューパ）。pupaとは、高橋幸宏が傾倒するフライ・フィッシングの用語で蛹（さなぎ）の意味。
    衣装のコンセプトは「トラッド×ミリタリー」。高橋幸宏は全メンバーの衣装をデザイン。男性陣の衣装はファッション・ブランド『ソーイ』が製作、原田知世の衣装は彼女の夫であるエドツワキが製作している。

    ６人がそれぞれ優秀な作家であり、ヴォーカリストであり、演奏者であり、プロデューサーであることはもちろん、この６人だからこそ生まれるpupaだけの新しい音楽への探究心が彼らの作品からは伺い知れる。彼らの真骨頂であるアコースティックとエレクトロニックを縦横無尽に操り、幾重にも重ねられた美麗なサウンドと、ポップな美メロがフューチャーされたエモーショナルな楽曲群はまさに天下逸品。
