作リリース＆世界ツアーを発表

トゥエンティ・ワン・パイロッツが7月11日、新曲「Jumpsuit（ジャンプスーツ）」「Nico and the Niners（二コ・アンド・ザ・ナイナーズ）」を同時リリースした。2曲はいずれも今秋発売される約3年半ぶりのニュー・アルバムに収録されるという。

彼らは6月末からWeb上で謎めいた動画や画像を多数公開しており、各地のファンの間では屋外看板の出現や“ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING?”と記されたEメールの到着も報告されるなど、新プロジェクトの始まりを思わせる動向に注目が集まっていた。

— ash (@slowdisappear) 2018年7月9日日本時間11日夜、アンドリュー・ドノホ監督による「Jumpsuit」のミュージック・ビデオが公開となり、オフィシャルSNSに新曲の情報が投稿されると、この情報は瞬く間に世界中へと拡散。YouTubeにアップされたミュージック・ビデオのコメント欄には公開からわずか30分足らずで「最高！」「王の帰還だ！」「ずっと待っていたんだ、涙が止まらない！」など20,000件を超えるコメントが殺到した。

2015年の『Blurryface』に続く通算5作目のニュー・アルバムは『Trench（トレンチ）』と題され、10月5日に全世界同時リリースされることが決定。また、同作を携えてアメリカ、オーストラリア、ニュージーランド、ヨーロッパ、UKを回る自身最大規模のワールド・ツアー＜ザ・バンディット・ツアー＞の開催も発表となっている。
