    U-Godユー・ゴッド

    激烈な個性が顔を揃えるウータン・クランのなかでも良識派と言えるラッパー、U・ゴッド。個人的なイメージとしては、ODB＝キテレツ、GZA＝知性派、インスペクター・デック＝リリシスト、そしてU・ゴッド＝オーセンティックという感じか。あと、RZA＝リーダー、メス＆ゴーストフェイス＝キャラ立ちスター、マスタ・キラー＝埋没系（？）というラッパー像が想起できる。
    ウータン人気も傾きかけた99年、遅すぎるソロ・デビュー・アルバム『ゴールデン・アームズ・リデンプション』をリリース。——リズムに足並みを揃える、キッチリとしたライミングは燻し銀の光を放つものだ。また、サウンド全体においてウータン特有の怪しげな雰囲気はあまり感じず、それらソウルフル・ナンバーは実にいい塩梅。ゴーストフェイスもそうだが、ソウルフルでノスタルジックなトラックにこそ、U・ゴッドのラップは映える。
