    80年代前半より、イングランドはブリストルにて活動を続ける。パンク／ニューウェイヴの余波をモロに受けたフォーク・ロック・バンドって感じか。すなわち、ボブ・ディラン風のヴォーカルと単調なロック・サウンドの合体である。ゆえに、初期R.E.M.と同種のテイストを醸す。90年代以降のギター・ロックのオリジネイターとしては十分尊敬すべき存在だが、そのあまりにミニマルかつヘタレな音世界は、いま聴くと何だか物足りない。
