    Stevie Salasスティーヴィー・サラス

    90年代初頭に登場したときは、"ジミヘンの再来"と騒がれたギタリスト、スティーヴィー・サラス。
    Pファンクの総帥、ジョージ・クリントンにスカウトされたことをきっかけに音楽業界に身を投じたサラスは、自身のバンド、カラーコードとともにアルバム『Stevie Salas Colorcode』（90年）でデビュー。ファンクやサイケ、そしてハード・ロックなどをミックスした音楽性やトリオ編成だったことからも、"ジミヘン"のキャッチコピーがつけられた。その後の音楽性も基本的に変わりはないが、ブ−ツィ・コリンズやバディ・マイルスとのサードアイ、バーナード・ファウラーとのニッケルバックといった別プロジェクトにより徐々に独自の立ち位置を確立。現在では、プロデューサー／コンポーザー／シンガー／ギタリスト……など、多彩な才能を発揮しながら活躍しており、日本での人気もひじょうに高い。
