    己の音楽を一本気に追求し続けるシンガー・ソングライター、スティーヴ・ウィン。その、無骨でひたむきな姿勢と含蓄のあるやさぐれヴォイスは、聴く者の心を捕えて離さない。
    80年代ペイズリー・アンダーグラウンドの雄、ドリーム・シンジケートのフロントマンとして活躍したウィンは、バンド解散後にソロ活動を開始。『Kerosene Man』（90年）でデビューを果たす。アーシーなロック・サウンドにポップ・センスを加味した楽曲群は、ウィン健在の高らかな狼煙となった。その後もコンスタントにアルバムを発表していく。——『Melting In The Dark』（96年）ではダーク・サイドを露にするがごときノイジーなロックを、『Sweetness And Light』（97年）では爽快なロックンロールを、と尖った感性を遺憾なく発揮。アレックス・チルトン／ルー・リード／ニール・ヤングといった旧世代と、ソニック・ユースやジャイアント・サンドといったオルタナ世代の橋渡し的なサウンドを聴かせた。
    最近では、気心あった仲間たちとのセッションを毎月ネット上で発表。精力的な活動を繰り広げている。
