    Skeleton Keyスケルトン・キー

    エリック・サンコ（b）、クリス・マックスウェル（g）、スティーヴ・カルホーン（dr）、リック・リー（ターンテーブルetc）の４人組。彼らが聴かせるのは、フランク・ザッパやキャプテン・ビーフハートのような変人ロック。それはサンプリングなどによって組み立てられた70年代以降のロックであり、DEVOに代表される「脱構築音楽」の世界だ。ジャズ／ロック／パンク／ヒップホップをも吸収する、その雑食性はまさにジャンク。鋭いギター・リフと、時にグランジを思わせるへヴィでテクニカルなドラミング、細かく切り刻まれたサンプル素材がカオスと共に吐き出されている。また、このバンドの中でも特に異質なのはドラムだろう。ジョン・スペンサー・ブルース・エクスプロージョンのラッセル・シミンズのように、タイトなリズムを基軸にラテン・ジャズなどの要素もふんだんに取り入れて、高水準のグルーヴを生み出す。またメンバーのリック・リーは、チボ・マットの本田ユカと羽鳥ミホ、ジョンスペのラッセルと組んだ「バター08」の活動でも知られている。
