    Shirley Murdockシャーリー・マードック

    84年にロジャー・トラウトマンにスカウトされて以来、バッキング・ヴォーカルとしてロジャー／ザップ・ファミリー系の録音に多数参加。86年に満を持して発表されたソロ・デビュー作『Shirley Murdock』は、ロジャー／ザップ勢が総力を上げてバックアップし、それに応えマードックもゴスペル・ルーツのパワフルな喉を存分に鳴らした傑作だ。ゴリ押すようなファンクではパワフルに吼え、バラードではうっとりするようなトーンで歌うマードックは、超実力派シンガーとの評価を得る。
    その後もロジャー・プロデュースの２nd『A Woman's Point of View』（88年）、３rd『Let There Be Love！』（91年）などの佳作を発表し、相も変らぬ歌の上手さを見せつけた。
    現在はゴスペル・サーキットで活動している模様。
