    ジャマイカ系移民の息子として、ブリストルに生まれたロニー・サイズは、80年代後期に作曲活動を開始。93年に自身のレーベル＜Full Cycle＞を設立し、95年のコンピレーション・アルバム『Music Box』で、一気に注目を集めた。
    レーベル・メイトであるクラスト、DJダイ、サヴ、MCダイナマイト、そしてヴォーカリストのオナリーらと共に結成されたレプラゼントで、ジャズ／ソウル／ファンク／レゲエの要素を取り入れたジャズ・ステップ・サウンドを披露。97年に＜Talkin' Loud＞レーベルから発表された『ニュー・フォームス』は、ドラムン・ベース界のみならず、世界各地のクラブ・ミュージック界までも震撼させた。その、まったく無駄のない骨格のしっかりとしたブレイク・ビーツが引き起こすグルーヴの衝撃波は凄まじい。——そして、00年10月。ヒップホップ／R&B／ロックへのリスペクトを示した、2ndアルバム『イン・ザ・モード』をリリース。メソッド・マン、ザ・ルーツのラゼール、レイジ・アゲインスト・ザ・マシーンのザックらをフィーチャーし、ドラムン・ベースに、さらなる革命の叛旗をひるがえした。
