    71年のStevie WonderらMotownのセッションマンとしてキャリアをスタートさせ、その後、盟友Wendell Harrisonとともに【Tribe Records】を立ち上げ、自身の作品もそこからリリースする。特に同レーベルからの最終リリースとなった『Vibes From The Tribe』 (76年）は名盤といわれている。
