    ニューヨークにおけるアート革命　“Illbient（イルビエント）”シーンを扇動するアーティストの代表格である、最前衛知性派・ターンテーブリスト・DJスプーキー（That Subliminal Kid）ことポール・D・ミラー。彼は、97年に発表した『Viral Sonata』で、自らの音楽哲学と精神の根源を浮上させた。何層にも織り重なるミクロの電子音像が激動する過程を実況中継した楽曲群は、自らのDJ／ヒップホップに対する姿勢が、50年代に台頭した“ミュージック・コンクリート”の精神性を受け継ぐものだ……という声明のようにも聴き取れる。
    ——ミラーは音楽だけにとどまらない芸術表現を模索し、DJのみならず美術／音楽評論の寄稿、また世界各地での講演を行い、ユース・カルチャーの壁を破壊している。
