    パッツィ・クラインはいつの時代にも偉大なカントリー歌手のひとりにあげられる。彼女はあらゆる女性ミュージシャンが立ち上がって、ナッシュビルを超えるカントリーやウェスタン・ミュージック界で認められるよう、感化し影響を与えた。その奥深くロマンティックなレコードと脳裏に焼き付く声には背筋ゾクゾクするが、63年３月５日の早すぎた死によって、不滅のカントリー歌手伝説（例えば、ハンク・ウィリアムスやグラム・パーソンズのような）をつくりあげたと言える。95年から60年の間に20枚近いシングルを出し、そのうち「ウォーキン・アフター・ミッドナイト」だけがヒットした。60年以降は、キティーウェルズやブレンダ・リーの方がふさわしいロカビリーやお堅いバラードどなどを唄うのはやめた。この時期がまた、レコード会社との契約が切れる頃だったという事実が彼女の成功を妨げたようだった。法律的、芸術的紛争から解き放たれて、ずっと唄いたがっていた「クレイジー」や「アイ・フォール・トゥー・ピーシーズ」のような曲で自信をつけ、クラインのヴォーカルにはゆとりがでてきたようにみえた。後者の曲はカントリー・チャートで第１位になり、ポップ・チャートでは第12位になった。スターダムを駆け上がって２年後、30歳の若さで飛行機事故により亡くなるまで、カントリー・ポップ・チャート・クロスオーバーのレコードを出した。彼女のレコードのエモーショナルな演奏と唄は、ロレッタ・リン、ウィリー・ネルソン、k.d.ラングなど多くの人に感動を与え、コピーされ続けている。
