フィンランド出身の、ヨーロッパで絶大な人気を誇るドラマティック・メタル・バンド。しっとりとした落ち着きのあるミドル・ヴォイスが美しい歌姫ターヤをメインに据えた５人組で構成。
97年にシンセサイザーのツォーマスを中心に結成され本国フィンランドでデビュー、途中メンバーチェンジなどもあったが、主にヨーロッパなどで高い評価を得てきた。単なるヘヴィ・メタル・バンドにとどまらず、映画のサウンドトラックを思わせる、クラシックとヘヴィ・メタルが融合した壮大なナンバーを得意とする。
