Magnified Plaidを略して、ナゼゆえかMXPX。勉強そっちのけでバンド活動に狂いまくり、弱冠18歳で『Teenage Politics』（95年）をリリースする。はちきれんばかりの若さから放出される荒削りなメロコア・サウンド／ほんのり甘酸っぱいメロディ／緩急を効かせたバンド・アンサンブルは、爽快そのもの。必然的に大きな人気を獲得した。
98年には、メロディアス志向を推し進めた『Slowly Going The Way Of The Buffalo』でメジャー・デビュー。そして00年の『エヴァー・バッシング・モーメント』では、プロデュースにジェフリー・フィン（グリーンデイ／ランシドの仕事で知られる）を迎え、新たにハードエッジなパンク・サウンドを展開してみせた。また、サイド・プロジェクト、COOTIESも高い人気を得ている。
