    カントリー界の美女はフェイス・ヒルだけではない。美貌とナイス・バディ、稀にみる美声が三位一体となったパーフェクトなシンガー、ロリー・モーガンを忘れてはならないだろう。スター・カントリー歌手、ジョージ・モーガンの娘として生まれたサラブレットである。
    幼い頃よりカントリー・ミュージックに親しみ、13歳でグランド・オル・オープリーのステージに立つなど、若くしてその才能は注目を集める。そして70年代後半にデビューするが順風満帆とはいかず、ブレイクしたのは80年代の後半。その間にドサ廻り生活が続いたり、人気歌手だった夫、キース・ウィットリーを亡くすなど、さまざまな紆余曲折を経た。しかし、そんな逆境をものともせず、89年のアルバム『Leave the Light on』がゴールド、続く91年の『Something in Red』がプラチナ・ディスクを獲得するなど、90年代カントリーを代表する女性シンガーに成長。他にも恋多き女性として数々の男性と浮名を流し、そっちの方面でも有名に……。その後もコンスタントにアルバムを発表し続け、01年にはサミー・カーショウとのデュエット・アルバムが話題になった。
