    80年代半ば、米西海岸で大きな成功を収めたメタル・バンド。19世紀末アメリカで起きた惨殺事件の犯人の名をバンド名にしているだけあって、サウンド／ヴィジュアルともにオカルトチックな趣。といっても、そこはアメリカ産バンド、ポップでキャッチーなテイストはテンコ盛り——ちょうどKISSを思わせる悪魔系エンターテインメントだ。また、フロント・ウーマン、リジー・ボーデンによる斧を使ったステージ・パフォーマンスは件の事件を彷彿させ、当時大きな話題となった。代表作は85年にリリースされた『Love You To Pieces』。
