    初期〜中期のビースティ・ボーイズと多くの共通点を見出すことができる、コットンマウス・キングス。元ディセンデンツや元ダグ・ナスティのメンバーを擁することで著名な、ハンブル・ゴッズのブラッド・ダディ・Xが結成したグループである。
    98年アルバム『ロイヤル・ハイネス』でデビュー。彼らが、ヒップホップ／レゲエ／パンク／ハードコア・ロック／メタルなどをゴッタ煮にして作り上げたサウンドは、タテノリ必至のヘヴィ・グルーヴを放出する。その音楽性をさらに進化（深化）させた『ハイ・ソサエティ』（00年）は、緩急を自在に操るエモーショナルなライミングとバンド・アンサンブルが絶妙にマッチ。このアルバムによって、コットンマウス・キングスはパーティ・バンドとしての評価を決定づけ、日本での磐石な人気を獲得したのである。
    その後もコンスタントにアルバム・リリースを続けている彼ら。その作品のどれもが、聴き手の肝を潰さんばかりのエナジーを包み込んでいる爆裂たるものだ。
