フュージョン・サックスでリスナーを恍惚とさせつづけるケニー・G。———82年にソロ活動を開始した彼は、同年デビュー・アルバム『KENNY G（邦題：シティ・ライツ）』をリリース。86年の4thアルバム『デュオトーンズ』が大ヒットを記録し、一躍ソプラノ・サックス奏者としての地位を不動のものにした。以降、一貫として都市を起点とした、洗練度の高い楽曲を発表している。心安らぐ伸びやかなサックスの音色と、インテリ風なルックスには日本のファンも数多い。
