    ジュニア・ブラウンは卓越したカントリー・ギターやスライド・プレイで知られる男だが、もちろん歌手、ソングライターとしての才能にも恵まれている。彼の音楽を聴くという行為は、まるでアメリカの文化や歴史の裏街道を旅するようなものだ、とよく言われる。温かいヴォーカルと個性的な作風や演奏が一体となって、さまざまなスタイルの音楽を自由に表現していくからだ。また、彼はビッグ・レッドと呼ばれるカスタム・ギター（普通の６弦エレクトリックにスティール・ギターの要素が加えられている）を持っていて、ラップ・スティールからチキン・ピックのスタイルまで、１本のギターで弾きこなしてしまう。速弾きのソロも、カントリー風のスライドも、ビッグ・レッドさえあればOKなのだ。一度でもジュニア・ブラウンのライヴを観たことがある人なら、こう言うだろう。「ぜったいに目をつぶっちゃダメだ。大事なものを見落としちゃうぜ」。
