    Julian Breamジュリアン・ブリーム

    現代ギター界の巨匠。輝くような明るい音色で彩られた彼の演奏には、聴く者の心を洗い清めるような印象がある。
    1933年ロンドンに生まれ、ギターは当初父に手ほどきされた。その後、王立音楽院で、楽典／ピアノ／チェロを学び、同時に独学でリュートの奏法を習得。20歳で頭角を現し、多くのレコーディングや五大陸全てで行ったリサイタルによって、30代にはすでに大家と呼ばれるまでになった。以来ギター／リュートの第一人者としてリサイタルを行うほか、古楽アンサンブルでの演奏や、ギター曲の編曲、ギター製作者への援助、ジョン・ウィリアムズとのデュオなど、活動は多岐に渡る。その貢献に対し、英国の上級勲士賞、ヴィラ＝ロボス・ゴールドメダルなど多くの賞も授与されている。
