    ジョン・セバスチャンといえばウッドストック・フェスティバルに飛び入りした時の“ラリラリの姿”が印象的だが、ラヴィン・スプーンフル時代にグッド・タイム・ミュージックと評された「魔法を信じるかい？」や「デイドリーム」などのヒット曲を書いたことも忘れてはならない。ソロになってもグッド・タイム路線を成熟させ、彼の人柄をそのまま反映させたようなドリーミィでフレンドリーな世界を確立。ヴァイブの響きが幻想的な「マジカル・コネクション」は、後にピチカート・ファイヴにカヴァーされた。その後92年に発表された16年ぶりの『タール・ビーチ』でもフォーキーなルーツ・ロックを展開、健在ぶりをアピール。99年には佐野元春の『The Barn』に参加している。
