    Fairground Attractionフェアーグラウンド・アトラクション

    80年代後半に絶大な人気を誇った、ヨーロピアン風味のロック・グループ。
    87年、パブや路上で演奏活動をしていたエディ・リーダー（vo&b）とマーク・E・ネヴィン（g）に、サイモン・エドワード（g）とロイ・ドット（dr）が加わり、フェアーグラウンド・アトラクションへと発展。翌88年に「パーフェクト」でデビューを果たす。ジャズとポップスを高次元でメルト・ダウンさせた、この香り高きナンバーはいきなり大ヒットを記録。そして、同年リリースされた１stアルバム『ファースト・キッス』（←キス写の名ジャケ）も大ヒットし、一躍人気バンドの仲間入りを遂げた。しかし、２ndアルバム制作途中の90年、残念ながら解散。——トラッド音楽／ジャズ／ソウル／ロックと縦横無尽にクロスオーヴァーさせたボーダーレス・サウンドは、現在もまったく色あせていない。
