    戦後サザン・ブルースの代表格。１人でハープ／ギター／ドラムを演奏するというワン・マン・バンド・スタイルで有名だが、それだけでなくジョン・リー・フッカーばりの強烈ブギーや素朴なタッチのカントリー・ブルースなど、実に多彩な芸の持ち主だ。特にアンプリファイドされたハープは、後のリトル・ウォルターといったシカゴ・ブルース・ミュージシャンにも影響大。南部特有のイナタいブルースがたっぷり味わえる。
