    50年代に活躍したニューオリンズR&Bのスター、シュガー・ボーイ・クロフォードの孫であるピアニスト。取り立てて新しい事をするわけではないが、代々伝わる遺伝子に忠実な音楽性を志向する。セカンド・ライン／ゴスペル／ジャズ・ファンク／スタンダードなジャズなど、アルバムごとにニューオリンズ印がバッチリ刻まれたサウンドを披露。伝統に沿ってはいるが、芸の幅の広さは新世代ミュージシャンの中でもピカイチだ。また、ヴォーカリストとしても堂々とした歌いっぷりで大物ぶりを発揮している。
