    ニュー・イングランドのフォーク・シーンが生んだ、ダー・ウィリアムス。11才で最初の曲を書き、今日でもジョーン・バエズやジョニ・ミッチェルのトレモロがかったヴォーカルの引き合いによく出されている。だからといって彼女の曲作りがレトロというわけではまったくない。つまり、彼女のソウルフルな歌い方と深くてカタルシスを含む詞がいつのまにかウィットのある方向に変わったりするというスタイルが前にあげた２人のシンガー・ソングライターとよく似ているということなのだ。また彼女は各地のフェスティヴァル巡りを絶え間なく続けることで有名なフォーク・シンガーであり、そのきらめくようなソプラノ・ヴォーカルは都会のあちこちのコーヒー・ハウスで、解き放たれ続けている。
