そのナチュラル・サウンドにより"１人クロスビー、スティルス、ナッシュ＆ヤング"の異名をもつ、アメリカを代表するシンガー・ソングライター、ダン・フォーゲルバーグ。72年にアルバム『Home Free』でデビュー。そして、ジョー・ウォルシュをプロデューサーに迎え、マナサス、イーグルスをはじめとする西海岸名うてのミュージシャンがバックアップした74年の『Souvenirs』で一気にブレイクを果たす。——ソフトな歌声／牧歌的なメロディ／陽だまりのように温かいサウンドで、優雅な音空間を創出。アコースティック・ギター／ピアノ／ストリングスの叙情的な響きが、楽曲をより味わい深いものにしている。このアルバムはプラチナ・セールスを記録し、「Part Of The Plan」の大ヒットを生み出した。
