    90年代半ば、北欧の強国スウェーデン出身のギター・ロック・バンドが日本で大流行した。カーディガンズ／エッグ・ストーン／ディス・パーフェクト・デイとか、いろいろ。いわゆるスウェディッシュ・ポップってやつだ。文系風女性タレントたちはこぞってタンバリン・スタジオに赴き、爽快ギターポップ・アルバムを制作。外資系洋盤屋はスウェーデン産に留まらずノルウェー産／フィンランド産と北欧各国のポップ・バンドこぞって大プッシュ。オリーヴ少女はもちろんのことガリ勉くんに至るまで、猫も杓子も北欧ポップであった。しかし、90年代も終りになるにつれ次第に失速……。
    このクラウドベリー・ジャムは、そんなスウェディッシュ・ポップ・ブームのど真ん中をいく存在であった。ジャジーでフォーキーでキュートでファンキーなキラキラ・サウンドはいま聴いても実に素晴らしく、まったく鮮度を失っていない。
