    アメリカにおけるインダストリアル・シーンを牽引する人物の一人。ミニストリーのアル・ジュールゲンセンとの交流により、彼らの作品に参加したり、リヴォルティング・コックスでもリード・シンガーを務めたりしている。91年ごろからソロ活動を始め、スコット・ウォーカーやデヴィッド・ボウイといった60年代のカルト・イコン（偶像）の流れを汲む陰鬱な佇まいのサウンドを展開する。94年にリリースされた『Shipwreck』は、ギタリストのウィリアム・タッカーとともに敢行したアコースティック・ツアーを基として、ダークでシリアスな作品に仕上げられている。
