Bang Gangバング・ギャング
交響曲のスコアを手掛けるなど専門的な教養を持つアイスランド出身のバルディ・ヨハンソンによるプロジェクト。彼は、アイスランドの民放でエロティックなTV番組をプロデュースし放送したのだが、非難をあびて早々に打ち切られるといった変わったエピソードの持ち主でもある。03年にリリースされたフレンチ・ポップ・シンガーであるケレン・アンとのデュエット・アルバム『Lady & Bird』での共演でご存知の方も多いだろう。バング・ギャングとしては、ドラムン・ベースやアンビエント・テクノの影響を感じさせる１stアルバム『YOU』をリリース。05年作の『Something Wrong』は、エステールを始めケレン・アンやマッシブ・アタックとの共演で知られる二コレットといった豪華ゲスト・ヴォーカルを迎えて制作され、前作とは一転、アコースティック楽器を中心に作られたメランコリックで、アイスランドらしい荒涼とした大地を感じさせる作品となった。05年７月に開催された愛知万博では、アイスランドを代表するバンドとして演奏を行い、見知らぬ観客さえも彼らのクオリティの高いライヴ・パフォーマンスに魅了されたという。ビヨーク、シガー・ロスに続くアイスランド出身アーティストとして注目が集まっている
